Comment from Taishi Ito Top Team General Manager
"What we are aiming for is not just a strong team, but a strong and attractive team. I hope that training like this one will serve as a base for changing the way the players think and approach things in order to create that appeal. Today we learned that to become the number one club in Asia that can compete on the world stage, it is not enough to be strong; human strength is also necessary. From here, we will once again work together as a team to create an attractive club that has the competitive strength and human strength to be number one in Asia and to compete on the world stage."

Comment from #13 Shohei Kikuchi
-Looking back on the two-day training
"Azuma-san touched on some of the same things during the training for new recruits in the league, but it was really helpful to have him explain it in more detail and with more clarity. He clearly explained to us what actions ALVARK should take in the basketball world and within the B.League, as well as what actions and words will get us a good response, and conversely, what actions will get us a bad response. It was a great opportunity for me to reaffirm my views."

-Topics that left a particularly strong impression on me
"(In the section on human skills) 'Community x Opportunity x Action' was very clear to me. I've always thought that it's not enough to just play basketball, that it's not enough to just improve athletic ability, but they showed me that way of thinking and the order of thinking so clearly, so I thought I would remember that and act when something happens. For example, the reaction after a loss, or a clinic after off-season practice, there are various situations when you're tired, but I want to recognize the importance of that one time and take the initiative to act, and I think I need to convey that to (my teammates). We had been feeling this way somewhere within ourselves, but I felt that it was a good opportunity to think about it ourselves, to put it into words, and to write it down."

-About the instructor, Mr. Azuma
"He was a really interesting and charming person. It might be a little different if he had come from a baseball or soccer background, but he has been working with the mission of popularizing handball precisely because it is handball, and I felt that he is the kind of person who can help not only handball but the entire sports world to step up, and I would like to hear more from him. Thank you for these two valuable days."

#25 Kohei Fukuzawa
-Looking back on the two-day training
"Even with a single word, I was able to reaffirm things that, although obvious, I would not have noticed unless someone pointed it out to me. As professional athletes, we are in a position where people are watching us, so that is something we need to be very careful about. Another thing is that it's not enough to just focus on basketball now. Life goes on after retirement, so it's important to do what you can now. I don't know whether I'll be involved in basketball or do something else after retirement, but I was able to learn that what I do now will have an impact on my future. I was able to realize that it's better to do what I can now (as an active athlete) and the things I've been wondering about (whether to do them or not)."

-Topics that left a particularly strong impression on me

-Hearing from Mr. Higashi, a former athlete
"Mr. Higashi himself said that he has come this far even in a sport like handball, which still does not have a large market. Basketball is currently attracting more and more attention, and in two years the league will be reformed and will attract even more attention. We are fortunate to be able to play this sport now, and he said that if we work hard, we can do even more. He made good use of the time he has given us over these two days, so I want to make sure I don't waste it and use the various attitudes I have learned here in the future. Thank you very much."
